Owner Comments:
1934-S is a tough date to find in any Mint State grade and rare in gem condition. I would like to thank Julian Leidman for this coin. I bought this from him in one of the more bizarre trade/buy deals I have done. Julian was terrific and I thank him for helping to make this coin mine! I have more recently tried to deal with him on ebay and found his prices unreasonably high, i.e. full Red Book price for slabbed coins graded details: cleaned or corroded. And ,as is his right he won't budge significantly on the prices. What a difference a decade can make. Regardless he remains one of the true veteran dealers in numismatics, though.
I must admit that the coin might have graded a 64 if it were a Philadelphia issue. I think that the key or semi key dates get a slight "benefit of the doubt" so that the grading services can keep them their holders. This, in my opinion, is more common with the Heritage-PCGS connection but I could be wrong... what do all of you think?
