2008, The Year of the Rat. Did the Perth Mint get impaitent? They have released the last three coins of this lunar series early, in 2007. Hence this coin bears the date 2007 on the obverse and 2008 on the reverse. The coin's reverse features a Rat and the Chinese character for 'rat'. The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This one once 99.9% pure silver coin is issued as a $1 legal tender under the Australian Currency Act of 1965. Yet another perfect example graded NGC MS70.
