Owner Comments:

In 2001, our Nickel is still the one we used to since 1938. However, noone at that time would think of this is the first coin to be change this century. The last Jefferson Nickel showing President Thomas Jefferson's left-facing profile on the obverse and Monticello on the reverse desinged was minted in 2003. Beside the 4 years during World War II, the composition of this coin remains constent with 25% of Nickel and 75% of Copper. The diameter is about 0.835 inches. The 2000s Proof Jefferson example I have is in PGCS holder and has very sharp detail on the bust as well as all 6 steps on the Monticello. The only imperfection is a slight chip on the reverse field. Otherwise, it will do better than the current score of PR69 DCAM.
