Owner Comments:

Standing Liberty quarters from 1916 through 1924 featured a raised date that wore away even faster than that on Buffalo nickels. Additionally, the design on all 1917-30 "Variety 2" Standing Liberty quarters usually struck poorly, not only on Liberty's head but on the shield and other areas as well. This specimen of the highest mintage of the series, which I acquired in March 2021, has more details than most in the head and shield and has frosty luster with light toning and few blemishes. It also has an interesting die break through the date, as sometimes found on raised date issues. Photos courtesy of Stacks Bowers Galleries.
