1894-S $1 MS65 Prooflike PCGS. 2/0/18. CAC 1/0. The 1894-S Morgan dollar is a well-produced issue, generally seen with a good strike and bold luster. However, the vast majority of 1894-S Morgans grade no finer than MS-64 PL. As such, this 1894-S is an important strike and condition rarity in full Gem Prooflike condition. This piece displays moderate mirrors, all there, but insufficient for the Deep Mirror designation. The strike is sharp. There are a few surface marks, none worthy of mention except for a tiny one below the point of Liberty's nose. This coin is tied for the finest PCGS 1894-S Prooflike specimen, but it is the only MS65 PL with the CAC designation. PCGS Population: 2 in 65 Prooflike, 0 finer. CAC: 1 in 65, 0 finer. (1/19).
