The first 90.0% silver commemorative U.S. dollar since 1900.

In 1983 the U.S. Mint presented a trio of silver dollars to commemorate the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. The Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints each produced an Elizabeth Jones designed coin depicting a discus thrower on the obverse and the upper body and head of a bald eagle on the reverse. These dollars are very easy to find in either raw or graded condition but are very rare in a perfect MS70 condition. The Philadelphia Mint produced 294,543 uncirculated coins, and the Denver and San Francisco Mints each produced 174,014 uncirculated coins.

1983 Silver Average Closing Price: $11.42| Year Open: $11.07| Year Close: $8.91 | Annual Change -18.03%
