Owner Comments:
A total of 11,000,000 pieces were minted in San Francisco. These dollars were packaged with a 40% Silver Quarter and 40% Silver Half Dollar and sold as a (Red Pack) Bicentennial Uncirculated Set by the US Mint. Only 4,908,319 of these sets were sold. Balance of the unissued coins were destroyed by the Mint. This is a Type 1 variety; low-relief design, bold lettering on reverse.
