Owner Comments:

This coin is atypical of the commonly found 1891 Mint-State Morgan Dollar. It has a strong strike, good luster, decent contrast, and flashy mirrors. Q. Dave Bowers writes in his book Silver Dollars And Trade Dollars Of the United States (Vol. 2) "Fully prooflike coins are rare. Those with DMPL fields and cameo devices are usually weakly struck, especially at the obverse center."

I have attributed this coin as a VAM-3.
