Owner Comments:

Ex: Eugene Gardner. Unknown in mint state when Briggs published his guide to the series in 1991, and still unknown today. Briggs 1-A, with the die scratch through the upper part of the shield, and amazingly vertical line 8 in the shield showing up in the base of the rock. Two die cracks on the obverse. One just grazes the left side of the first digit 1 in the date and goes on to the dentils. The other connects Liberty's foot to the dentils. And one on the reverse linking both outside leaves in the lower left quadrant to the Q in QUAR. Relatively clean for the grade with just light wear on the high points and a few scattered marks in the fields.
