2001 Silver Panda 10 Yuan 1oz SMALL D

The 2001 panda coins were only struck in BU quality. The BU coin had 3 major varieties – a large “D” mintmark, a small “D” mintmark and no mark. A part that with the “D” denoted the domestic version. Collectors became aware of the small “D” a few years after it's issue and they are the most valued. The Large “D” was issued from the Shenzhen Guobao Mint. Smal D unknown.

Mintage of the no mark BU coin is 500,000. Mintage of the small and large “D” versions is unknown. The small "D" is about 7 times more scarce than the large "D" according to Population reports of NGC and PCGS also considering market offers.
