Owner Comments:

The 1880 Quarter Eagle had a tiny mintage of only 2,996 pieces. Only about one tenth of that number are believed to survive today. The coin is rare above MS-62. The low mintage of this date was recognized early and many were removed from circulation before becoming too worn. Most survivors grade in the AU range with AU-58's being the most plentiful surviving grade.
