Owner Comments:

In 2008, a single commemorative $5 gold coin was issued to honor the American Bald Eagle and the 35th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act. The obverse features two young bald eagles perched on a tree branch. The reverse features the Great Seal of the United States: an eagle behind a heraldic shield, bearing olive branches for peace in its right talons, and arrows for war (defense) in its left talons.

There were 15,009 uncirculated and 59,269 proof coins produced by the West Point Mint. The MS70 (over 980) and PF70 graded coins (over 1,480) are fairly easy to find.
