Date/mm Information: Mint state coins are usually sharply detailed with excellent eye appeal.
Coin Description: The obverse has nearly flawless surfaces and is blanketed in intermingled lavender and soft orange toning. There are no planchet flaws on the cheek and just a touch on the jawline and the hair detail is complete. The reverse patina is a tad more diverse displaying lemon, light magenta, lavender, sky blue, and dove grey. Some minor spotting prevents an MS68 grade. The luster on both sides of this coin is superlative, no easy feat for the 38-D which is typically found with outstanding luster.
Comments: In years past, this slot in my collection was filled with a bright gold toned MS67 5FS. Imagine the level of quality and eye appeal that this coin must have had in order to bump an MS67 5FS out of the slot.
