This coin has a very slight golden champagne color, has clean deep mirror fields and a good amount of cameo (obv: pr+, rev: pr+). This coin is extremely attractive which is uncommon for a 1939. The coin does have a very nice and very slight golden color to it making it one of those coins that has 95% of exactly what I am looking for. While I would prefer a pure white coin, the color on this coin is very slight and very attractive and the coin has great deep fields contrasted against the solid cameo devices. Coins like this can be a real tough decision as to whether or not to buy them or pass on them. Unlike Proof Franklins which mostly have substantial populations available and one can just wait for a nicer coin, Proof Walkers with this kind of quality do not come along often. So I did not want to pass it up without giving it serious consideration. At the end of the day, the tie-breaker for me is eye-appeal, and this coin has outstanding eye-appeal. So I am extremely pleased to include it in my collection. For a 1939, this is an absolutely outstanding coin!
