Owner Comments:
The Liberty with Indian Headdress cent, aka Indian Head cent, is a popular and important type coin. Starting in 1859, it reigned for 50 years with over 100 million struck, second in production only to the Morgan dollar at the time. It replaced the first small cent, the Flying Eagle cent, after only 3 years because of production problems.
This fiery red example is one of the top 50 certified by NGC with the red designation dated in the 20th century.
8/24/19 Type Pop. 45/1 (1900-1909)
