Arkansas’ Hot Springs National Park
Following the popularity of the 50 State Quarters program Congress authorized the United States Mint to release new quarters representing America’s National Parks. Struck from 2010 to 2021, 56 different quarters will be issued in all—one for each state plus the District of Columbia and U.S. Territories.
The Statehood Quarters program was one of the most popular series ever issued by the United States Mint and inspired countless of people to become coin collectors. The series was continued one more year with the District of Columbia and U.S. Territories Quarters in 2009, and there was strong support for additional designs to be released. The America’s Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008 authorized new quarter designs to begin in 2010.
56 different quarter designs will be issued from 2010 to 2021 representing a national park or other national site in each of the 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands. Five quarters designs will be issued each year save for 2021, when the final design will be released. The order is determined by the date that the national park or site was first established.
