Owner Comments:
The Type 2 Standing Liberty quarter is almost as intriguing as the Type 1. Due to morality concerns of Liberty's exposed breast, the design was updated in 1917 to cover Liberty's chest in chain mail. The reverse was also slightly changed by shifting the eagle upwards and placing three stars beneath it.
This exceptional example is graded MS68 and has blast white surfaces with thick luster. It has a full strike but did not receive a “full head” designation. There is at least 90% of the head's detail present.
As with all my pictures of Standing Liberty quarters, the coin-in-hand looks much more amazing.
