Owner Comments:
The 1995 Civil War Battlefield half dollar is the 10th half dollar minted in the "Modern Commemorative" era. The obverse of the 1995-S half dollar features a standing drummer boy in front of a split-rail fence. The reverse of the coin features an unmanned cannon in a battlefield scene with the wording "Enriching our future by preserving the past." There were 437,114 proof coins minted. These half dollars are made from 92% copper and 8% nickel. The 1995-S proof half is a key coin in any collection of Modern Commemorative half dollars and is fairly difficult to find in perfect PF70 graded condition.
