Owner Comments:

NGC Cameo Populations:
The total mintage figure for 1959 is 1,149,291. As of 12/2018, NGC certified coin populations show that there are 750 Cameo coins total in all grades making up 0.06% of the total mintage while there are 13 Ultra Cameo coins making up 0.001%.

Cameo Availability:
1959 is very much like the 1958 regarding milk spots with the added issue that the master die (and as a result the working proof dies) had continued to lose detail. So, 1959 had another reduction in the number of cameos as well as a reduction in the strength of cameo. In fact, this is the lowest Ultra Cameo population of the entire series, even fewer than 1950. When combined with the milk spot issue it may take some time to find a spot-free coin to fit the collection.

This Coin:
This coin is pure white with no toning, has clean deep fields and strong cameo (obv: ucam+, rev: cameo+). I feel lucky to have found this really attractive coin. This coin has very clean fields, especially for this year. I had not seen too many 1959s with strong cameo and really nice eye-appeal before finding this one. When it came up, I did not hesitate.
