The second commemorative dollar issued in 1999 celebrates the 125th anniversary of Yellowstone National Park (which occurred two years earlier in 1997). The obverse of the coin features an eruption of the Old Faithful geyser, a popular attraction at the park. The reverse features a standing American Bison, which also appears on the seal of the Department of the Interior.
There were 82,563 uncirculated and 187,595 proof coins produced by the Philadelphia Mint. The MS70 graded dollars are plentiful and easy to find. The PF70 graded dollar is somewhat rare.
