The first commemorative released in 2015 was the U.S Marshals Service Silver Dollar, issued to mark the 225th anniversary of the Marshals Service as the country's first federal law enforcement agency. The coin's obverse features the U.S. Marshal Service star, with a silhouette below of U.S. Marshals riding horses. The reverse of the coin features an Old West image of a Marshal, holding a "Wanted" poster, and looking out into the horizon.
There was a mintage of 38,149 uncirculated and 124,329 proof coins produced by the Philadelphia Mint. The MS70 graded dollars are in good supply and are affordably priced at auction. There are fewer than 500 NGC PF70 graded dollars -- they are outnumbered 9:1 by PF69 graded coins. The perfect proof dollar is a semi-key coin for modern commemoratives.
