Owner Comments:

I bought this coin to be the twin sister of my 1941 P MS 67 coin. It is of almost identical value (the 1942 P may cost slightly more) and identical quality. Boldly and fully struck in all areas, super lustrous and frosty and very smooth. One very tight, shallow, nearly invisible, wispy abrasion keeps this coin from total perfection. The price of these has come down in recent years so this is my attempt to capitalize on this segment of the market.

In general the 1942 P coin is usually bright, frosty and lustrous and, although generally well produced, it is not always 100% fully struck, although usually pretty darn close. Abrasions don't seem to be a problem, as this issue is usually clean or just lightly abraded. Most coins are white but richly toned examples exist and they fetch a premium.

Second highest mintage of the series at 47,818,000.
