Owner Comments:

1872 Seated Dollar, PR65
Ex: Starr Collection
Beautiful Iridescent Toning

1872 $1 PR65 PCGS. As a date, the 1872 is among the more easily obtainable issues in the proof Seated Liberty dollar series, but it is rarely encountered in Gem grades. The present piece displays deeply mirrored fields with lightly frosted central devices, while iridescent blue and lavender hues emanate from beneath muted amber-gray patina overall. The surfaces are beautifully preserved and exhibit sharply struck design elements. An eye-appealing Gem representative of this sought-after proof variant. Population: 23 in 65 (1 in 65+), 1 finer (6/15).
