Owner Comments:

O.103 R2. Finest Known at NGC, Second Finest behind PCGS MS65. Per cataloger, "O-103 is a moderately available variety, readily identified by a broken right foot on the I in AMERICA and a distinct dot between the second 1 and 7 in the date. The dot disappears in the late die state variant of this die marriage, O-103a. This high-end near-Gem example displays dusky lavender-gray toning over the central regions, with deeper aquamarine and pale gold hues around the peripheries. The eagle's neck feathers and the central shield stripes are slightly weak, but the strike is otherwise pleasing. Close examination fails to reveal any noteworthy abrasions. From the Virginia Cabinet." Obtained from 2015 April 23 CSNS US Coins Signature Auction - Chicago #1219, Lot 5077.
