Update 2022!
I've grown over the last few years and recently purchased a large Canadian collection from an estate in Richmond VA.
It's a wonderful high grade collection of Canadian banks with over 70 notes dating back to 1837 thru 1935.
On the coin side of my collecting has been a select group of Morgans with low mintage dates and some gold coinage. I received my father's small collection after he passed. For the most part Mercury head dimes. I've been a member for 12 years.
Also taking a closer look in acquiring Walking Liberties and Standing liberties. I think next to the Morgan series they have the most value when it come to the artistic eye.
I retired at 58 and currently spending more time purchasing paper and estate collections.
So after a few years concentrating more on currency I have found the fun is in the hunt. Like all the collections, coins, currency, comics and art can become an adventure hunting down special pieces without giving up the farm to acquire them. Being in the right place at the right time can be a wonderful thing. Look for my new Canadian collection some time mid 2022. The Gregory A White collection. Hopefully it will have some high scoring and maybe a competitive set that will make some noise.
I also have a small comic book collection. Very interested in the Silver and Bronze era. My collection is around 250 books and growing. Comic con is a great vehicle for this childhood hobby. Seems the boomers still have the vision on collecting and hopefully their children will know what they have in the end.
