In the United States in 1795/ October 27 - The United States and Spain sign the Treaty of Madrid, which established the boundaries between Spanish colonies and the U.S. The new U.S. mint started to really churn out the coins minting 299,680 halves for 1795. Many interesting die varieties were created this year including the popular double cut date 1795/1795
