In the United States in 1795 / George Washington was president/ The eleventh amendment to the constitution was ratified on Feb. 7th / The Treaty of Greenville was signed on Aug. 3rd which in exchange for certain monetary compensation the Native Americans turned over large parts of modern day Ohio, and the site which became Chicago, and Fort Detroit/ The typical coining press in use at the Mint was the screw press, powered by human muscle, Henry Wm. DeSaussure was director of the mint and the King of Hawaii was Kamehameha I.
