Owner's Description

1942-D STRIKE: maybe surprising to some, but this is a relatively weak-struck issue. It is vastly more common to see incomplete skirt lines and a flat center than to see a well defined coin. It is very unusual to see clear seperation of cap/hair/face on the head. The reverse is better defined with only the typical weak strike of the trailing leg of the eagle.
1942-D LUSTER: brilliant--comes in different "texture" from smooth and bright, a watery glow, to flashy and frosty "starburst" flowlines. The frosty look is most common and surprisingly it is not uncommon to see some with some attractive tone.
SHORT SET RANK of GRADED GEMS: (MS65+) 5th out of 20 Surprise !!..and also the rarest in Mint State overall !
