Set Description
My collection of Philippine Carnival Medals consists of a series of decorative medals that were issued annually between 1908 and 1939 to commemorate the Philippine Carnival, which was held in Manila. The Carnival was an annual event that brought together people from all over the Philippines, as well as visitors from other parts of the world, to celebrate the rich culture and heritage of the country.
The medals in my collection are made of either bronze, silver, or gold and feature intricate designs that capture the spirit of the Carnival. Some of the medals depict images of colorful floats, street parades, and cultural performances, while others bear the portraits of famous Philippine personalities who contributed to the Carnival's success.
The Philippine Carnival Medals were highly prized by their recipients, as they represented not only their participation in the Carnival but also the prestige of being associated with this grand event. The medals were awarded to participants who demonstrated excellence in various categories, including sports, music, dance, and cultural performances, among others.
The Carnival medals in my collection offer a fascinating glimpse into the rich history and culture of the Philippines during the early part of the 20th century. They serve as a testament to the enduring legacy of the Philippine Carnival and its significant contributions to the country's cultural heritage.
