I have an original bicentennial silver proof set, but I didn't want to break it apart. So I found this coin on eBay to fill the void.

Seeing this coin minted in silver was actually the best thing the mint did for this year.

Last time a Kennedy half dollar was in silver was in 1964 as a regular circulated coin. Here we have a proof coin in our country's 200 year anniversary of independence!!
