Owner Comments:
Thalers of Leopold I are popular with collectors because of the prominent, and perhaps exagerated, Habsburg jaw featured on his portrait. It gave him the nickname "the Hogmouth". This example has a lovely circulation cameo and was issued from the Kremnica Mint, in modern day Slovakia, established by the Kingdom of Hungary in 1328. They are large and thick, to the point that they typically need an oversize slab to hold them.
