Medal, Plaquette, c1930, Bronze, France, COUPLE WITH DOG, by Rene Baudichon. Important bronze plaque signed by listed French artist, Rene Baudichon who is known for his art medals. Obv. Scene of a loving couple with a dog, very attractive; Rv. garden scene. Housed in original leatherette, satin lined box. In excellent condition, no damage or repairs. The bronze is signed lower right. René Baudichon (1878–1963) was a French sculptor and medallist. The artist was born in Tours, France, studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in his native town, and graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Known for his fine art medals, he also created in 1922 an award-winning hood ornament in the form of a caricature lion for the automobile company Peugeot. Size: 2 3/4 high x 2 1/4 wide x 1/8 deep.
