trozau - UK £5 (Pistrucci design) Gold Bullion First Strikes

Owner:  trozau
Last Modified:  1/4/2020
Set Description
In 2000, UK's British Royal Mint issued BU £5 (Pistrucci 5 Sovereign) gold coins without the usual 'U' mint mark that they used when they started issuing Brilliant Uncirculated £5 gold coins in 1984. The last time that £5 gold coins were minted in BU with no mint mark was in 1902 (like the proof issues that carry no mint marks). The first 500 struck coins were sent to PCGS from the BRM. MS69 is the highest grade given.
