A choice example of a circulated v nickel. I find it so odd this is the higher value die variety .
Coin collecting is so Amazing. I have learned so much neat stuff like this also being the year mauser rifles started becoming the best , all various sorts of repeaters where being tried to see if anything worked with black powder for longer than anything else. Smokeless propelant was discovered in france in 1893 and the rest of the world had it over the next few years , the united states introduction was the 1894 winchester leveraction rifle and .30-30win cartridge.
Which is still one of the leading combinations in the u.s.a. for deer and black beer and smaller big game everywhere. Premium bullets safely increase its performane to modern levels of reliability and accuracy and well as better terminal performance. Quicker dispatching of game. On and and on... right there making the entire thing happen was coin and currency the entrie way. Sharing accomplishments with all manner of trader and crafter and enginere , the history and connection is fantastic.

The 1883 no cents nickel ironically is the lesser mintage coin and yet its not as sought out . considering the tales of racketeer nickels, im surprised this isn't the more valuable die variety.
I am also surprised the racketeer nickel is not on the already extensive year. 3 nickels, 4 morgans , a trade dollar , plus proofs and something like 11 various denomination gold coins plus territorials like hawaii if i want the true representation. I think this is a very choice circulated coin. The with cents is too.

This is an excellent addition to my collection and finishing this set is a main priority. The strikebis excellent , very little master hub doubling can be seen. The surface is a little dinged up from contact marks. It is quite easy to look at for an extended period of time with a magnifier . this coin will be well taken care of .

A true 70. This is such a well struck , evenly ultra cameo'd , perfectly mirror like watery fields. I am starting to really love these "perfect" coins. Inspection under loup shows the cameo to be thick enough to look like stippling. It also has 3 raised horizontal lines on the outside of the rim...i have never seen /noticed this detail before . the edge lettering seems faint. But ledgable. I need to look into this raised rim thing...maybe it squoze between collar die segments? One raised area is clearly shown on the reverse ,6 o'clock position / faintly shown on the obverse 12o'clock.

There is alot of fine engraving that simply does not show well in photos , a surprisingly beutifull coin. This was an accidental purchase that I just decided to go with. Shipping took about a month and a half, do to covid19 shutdowns internationally. Ordered april8, 2020. I received it on this same day of registry.may 21/2020. I very much look forward to getting this series together and as complete as I can make it. We may not have the same access to the foreign currency in the near future,as we do now.

While its no gsa morgan or peace dollar...nor especially the two known (as of july 1st.2020) gsa seated liberty dollars .i have a feeling these gsa eosenhower dollars will soon become close to the value of more common gsa morgans. The ngc graded softpack blue ikes(silver ,Uncirculated strike) already have premiums in the couple hundred dollar range. This is part of a very special and highly under appreciated coin set.
