View Coin Canada 1 penny 1813 CANADA - TOKENS PENNY 1813 LC-47C1 WREATH BEGINS WITH LEAVES NGC VF 25 BN Nice 1813 Canada provinces penny token with a pleasing chocolate color and wear commensurate with grade. Coin variety is LC47C1 (see below). Cost: $13.39 on 1/17/16 on eBay from Chaz Mansfield (chaz2103).

Composition: Copper. Weight: 16.95 grams. Diameter: 34.28 mm. Thickness: 2.43 mm. Shape: Round.
Orientation: Coin alignment . Edge: Center grained. References: Br# 958, CCT# LC-47B1, Withers# 1393.
Obverse: George III laureate and draped bust right, oak-branches at sides, date below.
Reverse: Commerce seated left on a bale ho!ding scales and cornucopia; a ship in the distance; the third ear of corn from the top points to O. Legend: ONE PENNY TOKEN.

These coins first circulated in England before 1817 when they were ordered to be removed from circulation & were shipped to the colonies. 4 Varieties exist:
1812: LC-47B1 - Small ship; LC-47B2 -Large ship.
1813: LC-47C1 - Wreath begins w/leaves, medal orientation; LC-47C2 - Wreath begins w/acorns, coin orientation.
View Coin Nova Scotia 1/2P 1832 Canada Nova Scotia 1/2P 1832 CANADA NOVA SCOTIA NS-1D3 NGC XF 40 BN Very nice 1832 Nova Scotia halfpenny token with relatively light wear and a pleasing chocolate color. Coin variety is NS-1D3, but I don't know rarity for this variety (probably common). Obverse has PROVINCE OF NOVA SCOTIA along rim with George IV facing left as central device (despite his reign ending in 1830). Reverse has HALFPENNY TOKEN along upper rim, date along lower rim, and thistle in wreath at center. Cost: $16.75 on 11/9/14 on eBay from Ernest Latter (cwtguy).

Composition: Copper. Mintage: 800,000. Series Identifier: KM#1.
