Set Description:

Canadian Masterpiece Set 027

The RCM further incorporated the use of Swarovski crystal elements (originally used in the 2007 S$20 Crystal Snowflake series) in the coin designs with the S$20 Crystal Raindrop series. In each coin, the Swarovski crystal is used to illustrate a dew drop or a rain drop in stunning reflective 3-D detail. These coins were very difficult to acquire in high grade in 2008 and 2009 because the grading companies refused to grade them. The reason for this, is that the crystals would dislodge during the encapsulation process. As encapsulation technology became more advanced, and thicker holders were utilized, these coins were once again graded and holdered. The early examples of this coin are difficult to acquire in high grade because many of the Swarovski Crystals were painstakingly glued on by hand, leading to the coins being overly handled during the production process. Many are spotted near where the glue was applied, or have edge toning from from being handled with bare hands. I hope you enjoy this presentation. I am debating whether or not to secure the last coin.
