Set Description:
The 1/4 oz Gold Libertad set in MS is an extremely challenging set to complete. Sixteen of the twenty three coins in this set are top pops. Early years are difficult or nearly impossible to find and, when found, most have abrasions, scratches, or other handling marks. It is suspected that many early year coins were kept in Mexico, sent to overseas, or melted during past price run ups; thus, the extremely low numbers graded relative to reported mintages.
I have also completed the 1/20 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz Gold Libertad sets in MS and lack only the 1994 coin to complete the 1/10 oz Gold Libertad set. This has been a near decade labor of love to find and preserve these elusive coins and receive Rank 1 in all five gold Libertad MS sets.
