Set Description:

Years ago I acquired several of the coins for this set in a raw state (the 2004, 2005, and 2006). They're fairly rare coins by the standards of modern world silver bullion with mintage capped at only 2,500 to 12,500 depending on the year and most of them have been left in their original packaging, not graded. So I had to grade these myself at the time - around 2009. I got fairly lucky with the grading with more than one coming back as an MS70.

I got fortunate enough later on to find a 2008 and 2009 already graded - one in MS70 and one in MS69. The 2009 came from the set that had previously been the #1 ranked set in this category for the past 8 years (2011-2018).

Because of the decision to switch from Mint State to Specimen examples in 2011, this is a short, 7-year set. The small number of coins involved makes this seem like a relatively easy set to get into and build, but the relative rarity of the coins makes it one of the more challenging modern bullion sets to approach in my experience. It's not as hard or as expensive as collecting the early pandas, but I think that's mostly because the series has never achieved that same level of popularity.
