This First Year of Issue "Top Pop" 1921 P Peace Dollar is a significant addition to our collection. NGC has only graded seven 1921P High Relief Peace Dollars at MS67. So this "Top-Pop" is tied with six others for finest known. The frosty luster on this coin is outstanding and the amazing strike is superior for the type. The coin is actually so brilliant that it was extremely difficult to photograph. The frosty fields are virtually flawless and the glimmering luster abounds on both sides of the coin. Lady Liberty’s face, head, cheek and neck are absolutely pristine and the Eagles feathers on the reverse are as fully struck as one could hope far on this usually weak reverse. This coin has never been auctioned and has only been in private collections since originally encapsulated at The MS-67 grade. The coin is one of the most amazing 1921 Peace Dollar ever housed in an MS-67 holder! Definitely an “Oh-Wow!” Coin. This Coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
This is an amazing coin. While the Henard Collection specimen is not quite fully struck, it is still remarkably bold for the date. In addition, the coin simply beautiful — frosty white luster, clean surfaces and a rounded cheek.

A nice White MS 67 specimen of this Philadelphia mint Peace Dollar with a tinge of a light golden hue. NGC has only graded 37 at MS 67 with none numerically higher by either grading service. Only two coins exist in a higher grade, one NGC 67* and one 67+*. This Coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer: This is a magnificent example of an otherwise very common issue. It’s perfectly clean, not a mark on it. Even Liberty’s cheek is free of bag marks, and the coin is extremely lustrous. What’s really unusual is that it shows none of the acid staining (“milk spots”) that diminishes so many other ‘22-(P) dollars. It’s suspected that the planchets were dipped in a mild acid, and most were not properly rinsed before coining.

This 1922-D Peace Dollar is extremely bold for the type, a Full Strike, with richly textured, highly lustrous, and absolutely Blast White surfaces. A perfect specimen preserved in its original mint state as if it just came off the press and the reason for the NGC "Star" rating. Roger W. Burdette specifically features this coin in his Guide Book of Peace Dollars illustrating a picture of the obverse on page 194 and stating: "One of the more prominent examples was part of the Robert Moreno Collection and was graded by NGC at MS-67*, denoting superior eye appeal and is given to very few coins from each issue." Die cracks are prominently displayed on the upper and lower obverse, and are a common, almost diagnostic feature of this issue. One minute abrasion is noted on Liberty's neck just below her hairline. An exceptionally appealing Superb Gem specimen that NGC has now graded MS67+* during the process to re-pedigree the coin to the Pamela Henard Collection of Peace Dollars. It now ranks as unique, above the 16 MS-67's graded by NGC, and the only 67 boasting a "Star" classification with the + Grade, making it the singular unique "Top-Pop" from either grading service, possessing a deep history and Pedigree. This coin last appeared in a Heritage Auction in April 2006 and has been tucked away in private collections ever since.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
The early Denver Mint Peace Dollars typically have die cracks, especially on the obverse. The Henard ‘22-D shows these very fine cracks, but they don’t detract at all from the superb quality. It has phenomenal, booming luster, a bold strike and exceptional eye appeal that earned it an NGC Star — truly everything you’d want in a Peace Dollar.

Top Pop, Blast White, Solidly Graded MS66* Example of this tougher San Francisco Date with a tinge of Golden toning. Less than 30 22-S Peace Dollars have made the MS-66 Grade at Both Services with none higher. This particular Coin Displays outstanding luster and a strong strike, just as it came off the press attributing to the NGC * Designation. NGC Population in MS66* is two with none higher. This Top Pop coin was last sold at a Heritage Auction in January of 2007 and was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer: The 1922-S Peace Dollar is a coin that varies widely in quality. The nicest ones have satiny luster, and this is seen on the Henard coin, which was clearly made from fresh dies. It’s very well struck for the date/mint, but not quite fully struck, and that’s why we stopped short of calling it a 67. Wonderfully lustrous and just lightly toned a subtle golden color, this is a very pretty coin.

Blast White Top Pop, one of the three finest known specimens of the 1923 P Peace Dollar from either grading service. Of the 181 total 1923P Peace Dollars graded MS-67 from both NGC and PCGS combined, only three Coin garner the plus grade! Population in 67+ is 3 with none higher. This coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
No stains, perfectly struck, just an incredible coin. I don’t know what more to say, as the grade pretty much says it all.

An absolutely Blast White solidly graded MS66 example of this tough Denver date. Most 23-D Peace Dollars were fairly well struck but display a dull appearance and almost all have excessive bag marks. If you look at the Auction Archives of MS-66 23-D Peace Dollars, most of them have ugly dark rub and contact marks where this specimen is virtually mark free. A truly outstanding example, probably deserving of a + Grade. With a mintage of 6.811 million coins, examples can be obtained with relative ease through the near-Gem level of preservation. PCGS/NGC population data show around 100 Coins have graded MS-66 with only three finer. NGC has graded three examples finer than MS-66, one at 66* and two at 66+. The Blast White surfaces of this MS66 coin are atypical for this date and mint, and display outstanding original mint luster. This coin has obviously been well preserved and cared for. A extremely Strong strike yields outstanding definition on all the design elements. This coin has never been auctioned, and has only changed hands through personal collectors. This Coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
Again, we’re talking about the best of the best. It has beautiful luster and is perfectly white. It pretty much typifies the whole collection.

Blast White Top Pop coin absolutely Fully Struck. The 1923-S Peace dollar mintage far and away the series' largest for San Francisco, totaling 19 million pieces. Incredibly, however, the 23-S is an extreme rarity at the MS-66 Premium Gem level. PCGS has certified 2 of the 1923-S at MS66 and a single finer coin at MS67. NGC has only graded one 23-S at MS66 with NONE finer. So this specimen represents the Unique NGC Top Pop Coin for 1923 Peace Dollars minted in San Francisco. Clearly, the San Francisco Mint's focus during that time was on quantity, not quality. The typically encountered mint state examples exhibit either excessive, bag marks, and/or terribly poor strikes. This specimen is Fully struck, which is unique for the issue, with Blast White surfaces that have a mirrored proof like texture. There are minimal mentionable contact marks on either side of the coin and it appears this coin was an early strike of new die sets since this coin does not display the common obverse die cracks and minor surface pebbling near the rims most 23-S coins display which are the products of extended die use and apparent die rust respectively. This Coin is another Unique NGC "Top Pop" at the MS-66 Grade with a Population of One with NONE higher. Only Three coins exist at this grade from both combined Grading Services. This Coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer: Wow, here we go… It can sound repetitive, but you never see this kind of coin. It’s fully struck — you just never see a strike this strong on a ‘23-S, and the luster is amazing. It has a perfectly rounded face. You can’t ask for a better example. The coin I bought at 16 had this same luster, but it also had toning.

This coin is one of only four total MS-68 Peace Dollars in existence! An Absolutely Blast White Top Pop Coin! The MS-68 Grade has only been awarded to two Peace Dollars by NGC, This Coin and one 1925-P. PCGS has only graded one 24-P at MS68 and it is the Jack Lee III Specimen, and one 1925-P. So this particular coin is singularly unique for NGC graded coins by Date and Mint and is one of the ONLY two MS-68 Coins in the entire series which includes one 1925-P. One of the only two Peace Dollars ever making the MS68 Grade at NGC, and for the first time in Registry history, both coins are now in the same collection. This coin is as close to perfection as a Peace Dollar can get and has a very distinctive die break from the "1" in the Date into Miss Liberty's lower neckline that help to identify it photographically. This Coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer: This date can come incredible, and here’s just such a coin. It has fantastic, booming luster — maybe the best luster in the Peace series. This specimen is the finest certified and almost certainly the finest known. I like the granular luster typical of this date. It has rolling luster and is perfectly white; there’s none of the acid staining seen on so many P-Mint dollars.

A nice white specimen of this extremely tough San Francisco date. A remarkably strong strike for a date that is usually very poorly struck. Overall, the 24-S is one of the poorest issues in the entire series. One of four NGC 24-S Peace Dollars Grading MS 65+. Only two coins exist in a higher grade at MS66.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
This date is incredibly rare and very tough in high grades. It also comes weakly struck, but this one is very sharp for the date. It’s fully white with no stains — a beautiful example.

The 1925-S Peace Dollar in MS-65 has been one of the more elusive coins to acquire in this entire set. This specimen exhibits a relatively strong strike with reflective white surfaces adorned by a slight golden hue attesting to the Coins originality. With only 74 NGC MS65 coins available, this specimen is one of the nicest 25-S Peace Dollars appearing on the open market or in auction for many years. After years of searching, this one finally came on the market in our budget and acceptable to the quality of coins we are assembling in this MS-65 or better set. This Coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
Super, super rare — a very difficult coin to find in high grades. This one has a light gold color on the reverse, and there’s just a bit of weakness in the feathers. That’s the only thing on this coin that could be improved, and it’s the reason it’s not a 66 or 67.

NGC Top Pop Coin. Finest known example from either grading service, Pop of 1 with none higher. Shimmering Frosty luster abounds underneath a light evenly and naturally toned rosy surface attesting to the Coins originality. The surfaces of the coin are virtually flawless with minuscule abrasions under 10x magnification. This coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Collection of Peace Dollars in January of 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
This date is not difficult to find in the 63, 64 range, but when you get up to 65 and 66 it becomes very difficult. At 67+, this coin is the finest known example from either grading service. The surfaces are virtually flawless with shimmering, frosty luster.

This Top Pop Is what we classify as an “Oh-Wow!” Peace Dollar. Our opinion is that it is the most eye appealing coin in the entire Set! A shimmering Blast White, Tough Denver Date displaying a very unique Die Break, and virtually a near full strike. Probably the finest eye appeal one could ask for in a Peace Dollar. The 1926-D was produced to the extent of 2.3 million pieces, and, while not rare, this issue is not really common either. Still, examples can be located with relative ease in grades up to and including the MS65 level of preservation, but at the Superb Gem level it is a significant condition rarity. Only 15 Total 26-D Peace Dollars have been graded MS-67 by both PCGS and NGC and, of course, only this coin is finer. This coin at MS67+ has a NGC population of one and is the finest known example ever encapsulated by NGC. This nearly flawless piece exhibits razor-sharp striking details. The surfaces are absolutely Blast White and covered with a bright, glistening luster preserved in a state of quality like it just came off the press. The coin is absolutely Brilliant throughout. Roger Burdette states in his "Guide Book of Peace Dollars" that a very unique attribute of the Obverse 1926 dies is the obvious manual strengthening of the work "GOD." It is a feature of ALL 1926 Peace Dollars, regardless of the mint implying the modification was made to the Master Die Hub that all production dies were created from. This Top Pop coin is unique at one of one with the MS67+ grade and was last sold at a Heritage auction in January of 2006. This coin Was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
Like a lot of D-Mint Peace Dollars, this one has a die crack. It runs from the W in WE up through the first T in TRUST. There’s another crack on the reverse. It’s an incredible coin — perfectly struck, perfect surfaces, fantastic luster. It has to be one of the finest known, if not the finest.

This 1926-S Peace Dollar is a Blast White specimen with outstanding eye appeal as signified by the NGC "Star" Designation. NGC has only issued the MS 66* grade to two coins, and in MS66 the NGC total population is 40 with one MS66+ coin. The surface fields on this Coin are so brilliant they appear almost Proof Like. This coin was obviously one of the very first strikes minted after heavy die polishing and as a result the mirrored surfaces are so reflective and eye appealing NGC awarded the STAR Designation for the Coin's Superb Eye Appeal! This Coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer:
Why is it a Star? The die polishing on this coin gives it reflective fields that are almost Prooflike. The strike is exceptional; the surfaces are exceptional. On coins having reflective fields, marks stand out more than usual. This one does have a couple of tiny marks, and that’s why it got a Star instead of a higher grade.

A solidly graded MS65+ Blast White specimen of this particularly difficult Philadelphia Mint date with a tinge of Rosy color. Most MS-65 examples are significantly "Baggy" in the fields and show a lot of "Rub" on the obverse, where this specimen is a strong strike and has very clean surfaces. NGC Population is only this one coin in MS-65+ with only two higher at MS-66. This Coin was Pedigreed to the Pamela Henard Peace Dollar Collection in 2018.
Mark Salzberg, NGC Chairman and Grading Finalizer: This is a tough coin. It has a great strike and a bit of light toning. On this date anything above 65 is really tough, and 65+ is about as nice as you’re going to find. This Gem is very rare and a great example.
