||QUARTER DOLLARS - BARBER LIBERTY HEAD
||NGC MS 68
I have always been wary of coins that are essentially brilliant (and have a strong personal preference for coins toned in deep blues and golds--see the 1896 and 1898-O in this collection), but there is just enough light iridescent toning on the obverse to seduce me into acquiring this magnificent piece. Abrasion free with strong luster it is a delight to the eye. This is the sole example graded MS-68 for the date, and it is supported by just one MS-67 at PCGS and three others at NGC. Bought from a Bowers and Merena auction, July, 2008, lot 533.
