1956-D. D Over Inverted D. Breen 4378. FS#25-022.4, Repunched Mintmark (RPM) #1, CONECA's CONE E-01. The inverted front of the D is seen through the middle of the upright D. The bottom bar of the inverted D is seen protruding form the top right of the upright D. The top bar of the inverted D is seen protruding just below the middle for the normal D. Die crack from the top of the eyebrow north to the top of the head, then east across the the head to the hair under the T of LIBERTY. Die crack from the Q of Quarter up through the left wing. Die crack from the top of the right wing through BUS of PLURIBUS and UM of UNUM. Light haze over lustrous surfaces, light bronze toning near edges. Minimal marks for the grade. Cherry picked based on photograph from Ebay -- won for $6.50. Only 6 coins certified in all grades, this coin is #3 with two higher: 1 in MS-65 and 1 in MS-66. Very rare.
