In 2009 the US issued a series of quarters honoring the 6 territories that were not included in the State Quarters set. Washington DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, US Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands were included. Coins were issued from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints for circulation and from the San Francisco Mint in both Clad and Silver proof editions.
