1879 NGC MS64 PL VAM-52 (PAF REVERSE)Very well struck, typical luster. Brilliant and tastefully toned. Medium deep mirrors. One small scuff below the eye and some grade-limiting obverse field hairlines. This coin is one of the finer examples of this highly desirable, "VAM 100" listed date in prooflike. When I acquired it it was one of only a few known. With the publishing of the Fey/Oxman guide and certification support for varieties, the numbers have come up some. But so has the demand.
