Owner Comments:
This is the first coin to join my collection, and it has a story behind it. I was browsing around the various Proxibid auctions and found this Shield nickel hiding in a sea of Morgans. For the photos, it looked really nice, and didn't look cleaned or altered. It was listed as an MS64, but I had some doubt. I had up to that point concentrated on Modern coins, but I am really attracted to this series. Most other classic sets have a form of Liberty on them, but this one has only the shield. Even so, you really don't choose the series, they choose you, and this one cried out to me. I bid, and luckily had weak opposition, and it became mine. I sent it in to NGC for grading, and it came back MS61... not the highest grade, but as it is my first toe dip in the scary classic ocean, I am proud to own it.
