The 1853-O gold dollar is one of the most common New Orleans mint pieces in the set. The eye appeal is usually quite nice for better grade examples of these coins and the strike is usually satisfactory.
The coin shown above has strong luster combined with warm golden toning. There are no major marks, and only few surface disturbances that are consistent with the MS-62 grade.
