Owner Comments:

The Connecticut Quarter was the 5th coin released in the 50 State Quarter Program on October 12, 1999. The obverse side depicting president George Washington was modified to include some of the wording previously used on the reverse. The modification was authorized by special legislation, and carried out by Mint sculptor-engraver William Cousins, whose intidals were added to the trucation of Washington's neck adjacent to those of the original designer, John Flanagan. The Governor approved the theme which highlighted the charter Oak tree which proved to be a good hiding place for the state's original Constitution. Reverse Designer-James Ferrell.
