Owner Comments:
1799- PCGS (OGH) XF45. BD-7, Taraszka-19. This is the most available of the eight small star die pairings. The irregular date has a rather haphazard spacing of the digits and appears on this die paring as well as on variety BD-8. An estimated 300 to 400 examples of both irregular die parings are thought to still exist. This coin has pale yellow-gold surfaces with scattered old pinscratches in the fields and a scratch under Liberty's throat. The reverse is cleaner. There is a die rotation of approximately 18 degrees. This coin appears to have been net graded as both sides have details commensurate with a higher grade. Note the full and strong strike of the denticles and the complete absence of adjustment marks. The eagle's breast feathers, feet and arrows still show plainly.
