This $10 Liberty represents the "final" piece to my 20th century gold "type set". It was purchased at the "Greater Jacksonville Annual Coin Show" today 5/30/09. I took a few duplicate coins with me that I sold for a total of $560. I paid $640 for this very nice "62". I am quite pleased at my $80 "out of pocket" cost for this last "puzzle piece". The mintage for this year was moderate with 200,992 coins produced at the Philadelphia mint. The coin you see pictured is a very nice "problem free" example that has awesome detail everywhere for a mere MS 62. A nice coin to have representing this 1905 slot.
Looking at this coin again as I write this description, I can't help but ask my self what does it take for a coin to make 64 or even 63. I have seen both of these higher grades on coins that looked to be far inferior to this 62.
NGC has seen a total of 1841 coins in all grades with only 655 in MS-62. High grade examples exist with 11 in MS-66 and 7 in 67.
