This is my first (and only) 8 Escudos, a slabbed purchase on Ebay in January of 2014. Centsles had several Spanish 8 Reales and 8 Escudos up for auction on one weekend and I won this one at a very good price. The obverse shows weakness in the portrait as well as some pitting that looks like it was from the planchet rather than an effect after minting. The reverse is well struck with some toning around the rim.
