Slabbed purchase from Ebay in January of 2014. It's quite rare to see slabbed Spanish 8 Reales offered on Ebay and censles had several exceptional 8 reales coins. I bid on many of them but only won this one, which was the least interesting of the bunch. Still, it was an acquisition at below catalog price and a nice example of a rarely seen type. The obverse is weakly struck through the center of the portrait. The reverse strike is quite strong.
